Mi ricordo che l’ultima volta non mi aveva entusiasmato ma che qualche mia cliente invece me ne ha parlato bene ultimamente. Ero convinta di avere solo il 2004 (che mi aveva fatto disinnamorare) e invece vedo anche una bottiglia sola soletta di 2003 (lui sì che mi aveva fatto innamorare!), per cui porto a casa entrambe e metto in frigo.

I profumi sono pronunciati e abbastanza complessi e ricordano soprattutto la frutta esotica matura e la papaya essicata, le pesche sciroppate e il burro fuso, fino a note delicate di formaggio erborinato e lievito di birra. Poi lo assaggio, e trovo la conferma delle mie sensazioni visive e olfattive, un vino bianco maturo in cui la freschezza ha lasciato spazio alla vena sapida senza però svanire, la cui corposità è gentile nella buona persistenza, e che chiude in un equilibrio in cui la morbida avvolgenza la fa da padrona. Buonissimo! Insomma un vino che ha avuto una splendida curva evolutiva e che ha confermato tutta l’eccellenza qualitativa sfoggiata in gioventù. Ora tocca al 2004 riconquistarmi, e pensare che io per i vini piemontesi del 2004 ho proprio un debole, per cui confido che questo avverrà.
Per il dolce ieri sera ho provato un passito di una piccolissima produzione locale, un prodotto nuovo da uve Traminer, Arneis, e Malvasia bianca, che però mi ha un po’ delusa. Profumi un po’ troppo legnosi, dolcezza non proprio espressiva, e freschezza proprio latente. Da riprovare.
